In the evenings pre-dinner drinks can be enjoyed outdoors on the patio or indoors in the lounge. Our kitchen makes the most of the local produce available and specialises in game and seafood dishes, our menu is considered one of the finest in the area. We use only the freshest ingredients, sourced as close to Dune Ridge as possible, with many coming from our own organic garden on the property. This means that as you’re swooning over that hand-made gnocchi or zesty gremolata you are enjoying the freshest organic produce, assisting us in supporting local and minimizing our environmental impact.

Dinners served in the intimate dining room or out on the front patio under the stars, guarantee a journey of tastes and flavours as you explore our evening selection. Menus change on a daily basis dependent on what is in season and available locally. Dining Experience

We use only the freshest ingredients, sourced as close to Dune Ridge as possible, with many coming from our own organic garden on the property. Breakfasts is served either in the indigenous gardens, main house or at the swimming pool, or request a packed picnic basket to be enjoyed at leisure.

Organic Food

We believe that nothing tastes better than freshly picked organic vegetables and herbs which is why we grow our own in our herb garden outside our kitchen and various other gardens on the properties. These are picked before every meal to ensure our guests only get the freshest ingredients on their plates.

Seafood

Surrounded by the Indian Ocean it is no wonder our Fish and Seafood dishes are so popular.
St Francis has the biggest calamari ( White Gold ) industry in the country. Local fishermen go out daily ensuring only the freshest catch or scour the rocks for local mussels and oysters.

Eggs

With our own free-range chickens that produce eggs for the kitchen you can taste the difference. From our popular Eggs Benedict to home made ice creams as well as the decadent chocolate marquise.

Herbs & Vegetables

We plan our menu around what is available in our gardens and in season. Take a walk through our herb garden outside the kitchen to sample some of what we are growing. Our onsite vermicomposter turns organic matter into fertilizer which is used in the various vegetable gardens on the property keeping everything as organic as possible.

Supporting Local

We are proud to support other local producers in the area. Our kitchen uses fresh farm butter from the local dairy and the milk is made into our own ricotta. Enjoy locally made marmalades, preserves and chutneys with a selection of cheeses from the area with your favourite glass of wine.

Water

Tying in with our philosophy of a low carbon footprint and minimizing plastic waste, we are happy to partner with AquaV. They offer the freshest water from the Langkloof Mountains in a returnable glass bottle.

Honey

Dune Ridge is situated on a coastal nature reserve with a variety of fynbos species. This fynbos provides the ideal environment for endemic bee swarms to flourish and produce a very distinct and sought after honey that is harvested on the property and used in the kitchen.

Destination Dining

We love getting out into nature and encourage our guests to experience something different on at least one of the days which is why our dining experiences are not restricted to our dining room. Enjoy an al fresco picnic with your toes in the beach sand, sip on cocktails as you see the sun set or enjoy a uniquely South African meal at our poolside boma as you watch the fire embers burning low.
